The accident occurred around 16:00 on the 451st kilometer of the R-239 highway "Kazan — Orenburg," near the border with Kazakhstan. Preliminary data indicates a collision between a Toyota and a Mazda.
There were five citizens of Tajikistan in the Toyota, while the driver of the Mazda was a local resident who, unfortunately, also died at the scene. Of the passengers in the Toyota, three sustained fatal injuries and died before the ambulance arrived.
The other two injured, young men born in 1999 and 2006, were urgently hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Abduлинская interdistrict hospital with diagnoses of traumatic brain injuries, pelvic and limb fractures, as well as traumatic shock.
Ruslan Medvedev, the prosecutor of the Orenburg region, has instructed to investigate the circumstances of the incident. An initial inquiry is currently underway to determine the causes and conditions of the accident. Investigative actions are ongoing.
