Peskov: Russia Will Target Nuclear Weapons at Estonia if They Are Deployed
He added that Russia will adhere to its nuclear deterrence policy and take the necessary measures to ensure its security.
Earlier, Estonia's Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna stated that the country is ready to consider the possibility of hosting NATO allies' nuclear weapons if such a decision is made by the alliance. Estonia's Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur also mentioned the possibility of deploying British fighter jets capable of carrying nuclear warheads.
It should be noted that Estonia does not possess its own nuclear weapons.
According to Bloomberg, European countries are considering creating their own nuclear deterrence system, as there is some uncertainty regarding the reliability of the U.S. as a military ally. Currently, Europe's security is largely ensured by the American "nuclear umbrella," and the United Kingdom and France are the only European countries with their own nuclear arsenal.
