Trump announced plans to send a hospital ship to Greenland
According to Reuters, this statement was made before a dinner for Republican governors at the White House, where Trump was in the company of Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry. At the same time, neither the White House nor Landry's office has commented on the information regarding plans to send a "floating hospital."
The agency also reports that the U.S. Navy has two medical ships — Mercy and Comfort, but neither is stationed in Louisiana.
It is noteworthy that shortly before this, the Danish Joint Arctic Command reported the evacuation of a sailor from an American submarine off the coast of Greenland, but did not specify whether this was related to U.S. initiatives.
It is worth reminding that earlier Trump expressed a desire to establish control over Greenland, emphasizing the strategic importance of this region and the need to counter Russia and China in the Arctic. In January, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, he stated that he hoped to resolve this issue through diplomatic negotiations.
