Macron commented on the US Supreme Court's cancellation of Trump's tariffs
Furthermore, the French president emphasized that his country will closely monitor the consequences of the new 10% global tariff imposed by the U.S. and is ready to take retaliatory measures if necessary.
Macron also pointed out that Paris is interested in maintaining the export of its goods to the United States, including agricultural products, luxury items, clothing, and aviation technology. He stressed the importance of stable and mutually beneficial trade relations.
It is worth recalling that on February 20, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the global tariffs imposed by the Trump administration in April 2025 under the pretext of an emergency were illegal, citing the president's overreach of authority.
In response to this decision, Trump called it a "shame" and announced that there was a backup plan, later signing an order to impose an additional 15% tariff on all countries.
