In his statement, Fico noted that a decision to halt supplies could be made as early as Monday. He emphasized: "If Volodymyr Zelensky does not restore oil transit to Slovakia on that day, I will be forced to contact the relevant Slovak companies with a request to stop emergency electricity supplies to Ukraine."
These words came against the backdrop of ongoing disagreements between the two countries regarding oil transit and energy cooperation issues.
