Nissan has announced the start of two recalls affecting 642,698 Nissan Rogue crossovers. The reason for this action is potential engine and transmission malfunctions that could lead to a loss of power during operation. This information was reported by the Kazinform agency, citing CBS.
The first recall covers 323,917 vehicles from the 2023–2025 model years equipped with a three-cylinder 1.5-liter VC-Turbo engine with variable compression ratio. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the risk of engine bearing failure could lead to oil leaks and increases the likelihood of fire.
This recall is an extension of a campaign announced in June of last year that affected over 480,000 vehicles, including Rogue, Infiniti, and Nissan Altima models. At that time, manufacturing defects were identified that could cause sudden loss of power and increase the risk of accidents.
The second action involves 318,781 Rogue crossovers from the 2024–2025 model years with the same turbo engine. NHTSA noted that a gear failure in the electronic throttle control unit could also increase the likelihood of emergency situations.
All owners of affected vehicles will receive notifications regarding the need for diagnostics and free repairs, which are scheduled to be sent out on March 27, 2026.
