Hundreds of fake truck driver training schools identified in the USA

The existing educational institutions have come under scrutiny for violating the standards set by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and may be removed from the national registry of training organizations. During a five-day inspection that covered all 50 states, over 1,400 inspections were conducted with the participation of more than 300 inspectors. The results revealed numerous schools that did not meet the established criteria.

The identified violations ranged from fake addresses to the absence of qualified instructors. Some training centers did not provide instruction on hazardous materials transportation regulations, used unsuitable vehicles for training, and did not conduct mandatory student testing. In some cases, employees of these institutions openly admitted that they did not meet the requirements even of their own states.

As a result of the inspections, 109 educational institutions voluntarily decided to remove themselves from the national registry, while another 448 received notices of potential removal for failing to comply with basic safety standards.

Sean Duffy, the U.S. Secretary of Transportation, noted that the trucking sector has long operated "like the Wild West," and emphasized the government's intention to strengthen oversight at all stages of driver training to enhance road safety.

This campaign is part of a broader strategy to improve oversight in the freight transportation sector. Previously, authorities tightened English language proficiency requirements for drivers and took measures to prevent unqualified foreign nationals from obtaining commercial licenses.
