
The ceremony took place on February 18 in the square in front of the "April 25" House of Culture. It was attended by the General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs of the DPRK Kim Jong Un, as well as delegates of the congress, industry leaders, scientists, engineers, and workers from defense enterprises.
According to the agency, over the course of two months, 50 units of 600 mm caliber MLRS were produced and are now handed over to the army. One of the enterprise leaders presented Kim Jong Un with documents regarding the transfer of the weapons.
In his speech, Kim Jong Un thanked the workers of the defense industry and emphasized the importance of modernizing the country's defense capabilities. He noted that the development of military potential is a fundamental condition for ensuring the state's security.
During the ceremony, Kim Jong Un awarded the Order of Kim Il Sung to one of the leading defense enterprises that demonstrated outstanding results in updating the defense industry and handed over documents regarding the acceptance of the weapons to the Chief of the General Staff of the Korean People's Army. He then inspected the transferred equipment.
According to the Central Telegraph Agency of Korea (CTAK), after the event, the delegates of the congress and invited guests familiarized themselves with the displayed samples of weapons.
