During his speech, Zelensky mentioned that in 2025, Russian troops with a relay system were deployed on the territory of Belarus, which improved the control of strike drones. This, in turn, increased the threat to Ukrainian energy facilities and railway infrastructure.
He also noted that infrastructure for the deployment of medium-range missiles of the "Oreshnik" complex continues to be created in Belarus. The President of Ukraine characterized this as a "clear threat" not only to Ukrainians but to the entire European continent. Additionally, he pointed out that in 2025, Belarusian enterprises supplied Russia with key components and equipment for missile production.
Zelensky emphasized that Lukashenko has long sacrificed the sovereignty of Belarus to maintain his power, actively supports Russia in circumventing international sanctions, justifies Russia's aggressive actions, and intensifies his involvement in prolonging the conflict.
Announcing the sanctions, Zelensky confirmed that Ukraine will cooperate with international partners to achieve a global effect from the imposed measures.
