Countries that joined Trump's World Council have committed to allocate more than five billion dollars for the reconstruction of Gaza

The President announced this in his post, stating that on February 19, 2026, he will again gather the members of the World Council at the Donald J. Trump Peace Institute located in Washington. “We will announce that the participating countries have committed to allocate more than 5 BILLION DOLLARS for humanitarian aid and the reconstruction of Gaza, as well as send thousands of personnel to International Stabilization Forces and local police to ensure the safety of the region's residents,” he noted on Truth Social.

Details about which specific countries will finance this initiative and to what extent were not disclosed by Trump. He emphasized that the World Council will become “the most significant international body in history” and that it is a great honor for him to lead it.

Initially, the World Council was conceived as a structure to manage the Gaza Strip after the conflict as part of Trump's peace plan. However, it soon became clear that the U.S. president intends to make it a new international body with broader powers.

On January 22, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Trump signed the charter of the World Council, with himself as its chairman. Each country is invited to contribute one billion dollars to gain lifetime membership in the Council. The signing of the charter was attended by leaders of other countries that joined the Council, including representatives from the Middle East and South America, as well as Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, along with the presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

At the same time, Russia was also invited to join, but has not yet confirmed its participation. Putin expressed readiness to transfer one billion dollars from frozen Russian assets in the U.S. to the Council, even before resolving the membership issue, emphasizing “Russia's special relationship with the Palestinian people.”
