According to information from RIA Novosti, citing the Telegram channel of the Solar Astronomy Laboratory at the Institute of Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a shape resembling a smile has appeared on the Sun.
The publication reports that this "smiley" is impressively large—about 1.5 million kilometers.
Scientists explained that two active regions on the surface of the Sun are forming this smile, and its shape has arisen due to a prominence.
Additionally, astronomers noted that the Sun is currently facing Earth, while the other planets are on the opposite side of the star.
