Italian Week 2026 in Mongolia will last until February 15

This weekend, residents of Ulaanbaatar will be able to immerse themselves in a rich program prepared by the Embassy of Italy, which covers modern achievements of Italian culture in various fields: from art and design to fashion, music, opera, cuisine, and lifestyle. This was reported by MiddleAsianNews.

From February 9 to 15, 2026, the first Italian Week will take place in Mongolia. This city-wide initiative aims to promote modern Italian culture and achievements in areas such as art, music, fashion, gastronomy, and lifestyle.

The main goal of Italian Week 2026 is to support Italian creativity and develop cultural dialogue through the organization of exhibitions, public events, and urban initiatives.

This initiative brings together significant cultural institutions and a network of official distributors of Italian goods operating in Ulaanbaatar, providing residents with the opportunity to get acquainted with Italian culture both in museums and in the urban environment.

Throughout the week, shops and distributors actively participate in events dedicated to Italian culture and products, holding various promotions and events.

As part of this program, special varieties, promotions, tastings, and other activities aimed at attracting customers will be offered, as well as the demonstration of official project materials.

The cultural program of Italian Week 2026 includes exhibitions organized by leading cultural institutions in Ulaanbaatar.

At the Zanabazar Museum of Fine Arts, the exhibition "When the Center Moves" is taking place, featuring works by contemporary artists such as Luca Buvoli, Pietro Ruffo, and Bekhbaatar Enkhtur. This is the first exhibition for a Mongolian artist who studied and lives in Italy, in his home country (curator: Chiara Zampetti Egidi; assistant curator: Darkhijav Jadambaa).

The exhibition "Italy is Fashion: Italian Notes," held at the National Museum of Chinggis Khan, explores Italian design and fashion through the works of renowned Italian designers, including Valentino and Max Mara. Unique lamps by Gio Ponti are also on display. Visitors can see photographs of costumes created by Valentino for "La Traviata" in 2016, provided by @Opera_Roma. The documentary "Italy is Fashion" is available through 3D viewers in the exhibition space.

At the opening of the Chinggis Khan Museum, the famous Mongolian singer Amartuvshin Enkhbat performed, accompanied by the conductor of La Scala Theatre, Maestro Stefano Salvatori.
