South Korean intelligence reported on North Korean leader's plans to appoint his daughter as successor

South Korean intelligence specialists noted that Kim Ju Ae is actively participating in various events, such as the Army Day celebrations and a visit to the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun. During these events, she expressed her opinions on political issues, which may indicate her preparation for the role of heir, according to NIS sources.

Previously, South Korean intelligence had already considered Kim Ju Ae as the most likely candidate for the role of successor, but now the official procedure for her appointment has begun, according to NIS. The agency emphasized that it will closely monitor her participation in state events.

According to intelligence estimates, Kim Jong Un's daughter is about 13 years old. In September, it was reported that she might accompany her father on his trip to Beijing for the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the victory over Japanese militarism. In 2024, NIS informed the South Korean parliament that Kim Ju Ae is undergoing training in state management.
