A fight broke out among deputies in the Turkish parliament during the oath-taking ceremony for new ministers

During the ceremony in which the new ministers of justice and internal affairs took their oaths, members of the main opposition Republican People's Party attempted to disrupt the event, leading to a conflict with representatives of the ruling Justice and Development Party. As a result of the scuffle, deputies pushed each other, shouted, and one of them even sustained an injury—a broken nose.

Despite the incident, the ceremony continued to the end, after which the parliamentary session was suspended.

The new Minister of Internal Affairs is Mustafa Ciftci, who previously served as the governor of Erzurum, and the Minister of Justice is Akin Gurluk, who had worked as a prosecutor in Istanbul before. The incident occurred during the oath-taking of the new Minister of Justice.

It is worth noting that in March of last year, Gurluk issued an arrest warrant for Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, which sparked mass protests across the country. Opposition deputies expressed the opinion that the former prosecutor should not hold a political position.
