Russia has reduced imports of Chinese cars
According to data provided by the Russian ambassador to China, Igor Morgulov, in an interview with RIA Novosti, the volume of car imports from China to Russia decreased by 44% by the end of 2025. According to information published by the General Administration of Customs of China, the total trade turnover between the countries also decreased by 6.9% compared to 2024, amounting to $228.105 billion.
Commenting on the decline in imports from China, which overall amounted to just over 10%, the ambassador noted that this trend was predictable and is explained by the fact that the Russian market has become saturated with certain categories of Chinese goods.
“For example, in 2025 we saw that car imports fell by 44%, whereas in previous years this sector showed rapid growth,” Morgulov added.
