On February 9, 2026, Nyamkhüü Ulambayar, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Mongolia to the French Republic and Permanent Representative to UNESCO, met with the President of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), Teresa Patricio, and the Director-General, Céline Noguès-Weber. This was announced on the Facebook page of the Embassy of Mongolia in Paris.

ICOMOS is an international organization dedicated to the protection and preservation of cultural heritage and monuments, as well as conducting relevant research and developing standards in this field. It has advisory status with the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, where sites nominated for inclusion in the World Heritage List are evaluated, and professional recommendations on the conservation of registered sites are provided.
During the meeting, Céline Noguès-Weber congratulated Mongolia on its first election to the UNESCO World Heritage Committee and noted the importance of cooperation within the framework of the World Heritage Convention.
Nyamkhüü Ulambayar emphasized that the country, as a member of the World Heritage Committee, adheres to a scientific approach based on factual data and research, and actively participates in the preservation of its unique natural and cultural heritage.
She also expressed readiness to consider the opinions of other member states and to cooperate with organizations that have advisory status with the World Heritage Centre.
