The grant agreement signing ceremony, organized by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), took place on February 5, 2026, marking an important step towards implementing technical assistance for launching these flights between the two countries.

The agreement was signed by Ganbold Gochoo, Deputy Minister of Roads and Transportation of Mongolia, and Thomas Hardy, Acting Administrator of USTDA from the United States. This significant event was also attended by Foreign Minister Battsereg Batmunkh and Ambassador Batbayar Olziidelger.

According to the agreement, technical assistance will be provided in the area of flight safety standards, with a total budget of $2.6 million. Of this amount, $2.2 million will be allocated by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), and $390,000 will be provided by The Wicks Group Consulting.

During the signing of the agreement, Mongolia's Foreign Minister Battsereg emphasized that this agreement is significant not only for the development of aviation cooperation between the two countries but also for deepening political and economic ties, as well as for stimulating trade, tourism, and exchanges between the peoples. She added that cooperation in civil aviation is a clear confirmation of the strategic partnership of the "third neighbor" between Mongolia and the USA.
