Mongolian woman retains title of Asian champion

Narantuya Bayarsaihan has once again won gold at the Asian Championship, becoming a two-time champion. As reported by MiddleAsianNews, this is her third medal at the continental championship.

The snooker competitions in Asia for 2026 took place from January 31 to February 6 in the capital of Qatar, Doha.

The leading Mongolian player in snooker and billiards, Narantuya Bayarsaihan, showcased an outstanding performance at the 2026 Asian Championship, winning the gold medal and confirming her status as a two-time champion.


On the morning of February 6, the final match among women took place in Doha, where Narantuya Bayarsaihan, the reigning champion, aimed to defend her title won last year in the same city.

Standing in her way was Indian athlete Kirtana Pandian, who posed a serious challenge at the beginning of the match. The first frame was very tense, and Narantuya won by a narrow margin of two points. In the second frame, she showcased her skills, making a break of 40 points and leading the score 2-0.

Kirtana, refusing to give up, won the third frame, keeping her title hopes alive. However, in the fourth frame, Narantuya demonstrated her mastery, confidently winning with a score of 57-06 and successfully defending her title. The bronze medals in the women's tournament were shared by Yi Ki Ho from Hong Kong and Anupama Ramachandran from India.

The 2026 Asian Snooker Championship, held at the QBSF Academy in Doha, concluded on February 6 when the women's champion was announced.
