The Mongolian Caucus in the 119th Congress of the USA has been reestablished

Left: Dina Titus and John Moolenaar
As part of the 119th Congress of the USA, the Mongolian Caucus has been reestablished, which will be co-chaired by two co-chairs: Democrat Dina Titus from Nevada and Republican John Moolenaar from Michigan.

The main tasks of the Mongolian Caucus will be to develop cooperation between the US Congress and the Parliament of Mongolia, as well as to work on strengthening bilateral relations in all areas and obtaining support from Congress for these goals.

This event marks an important step in strengthening ties between the 119th Congress of the USA and the Mongolian Parliament, opening new horizons for further cooperation.

The US Congress consistently supports democratic transformations and development in Mongolia, which is reflected in numerous resolutions passed. In particular, the House of Representatives and the Senate approved a resolution on "Affirming the Strategic Partnership between the United States and Mongolia" in December 2020 and April 15, 2021, respectively.

Aliki (Alice) Konstantina "Dina" Titus is a well-known American politician from the Democratic Party, who represented the 7th congressional district in the Nevada Senate (1988—2008) and is currently a member of the US House of Representatives from the 1st district (since 2013). From 1993 to 2008, she served as the minority leader in the Senate. Before her work in Congress, she taught political science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Titus has Greek roots on her mother's side; her grandfather, Arthur Konstantinos Katonis, emigrated to the USA in 1911. He opened a restaurant in Tifton, where he personally taught his granddaughter the Greek language and culture. In 1980, she visited Greece for the first time, where she was able to meet relatives.

Titus is also the author of several bills, including one that requires health insurance companies to cover the costs of the Gardasil vaccine against the human papillomavirus. This bill was successfully passed by both chambers and signed by Governor Jim Gibbons.

John Robert Moolenaar is an American politician representing the state of Michigan in the US House of Representatives since 2015. Initially, he represented the 4th district, and since 2023, he has represented the 2nd district. Moolenaar, a member of the Republican Party, previously served in the Michigan House of Representatives and in the state Senate.

Born on May 8, 1961, in Midland, Michigan, he has Dutch roots. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Hope College in 1983 and then graduated from Harvard University in 1989 with a Master of Public Administration degree.
