The lead singer of 3 Doors Down, Brad Arnold, has died.
According to BBC News, in May 2025, the musician revealed his diagnosis — stage four kidney cancer. Doctors diagnosed him with clear cell renal cell carcinoma with metastases to the lungs.
At that time, Arnold shared: "I received some not-so-happy news. After a visit to the hospital and examinations, I was diagnosed with 'clear cell renal cell carcinoma with metastases to the lungs.' This is stage four, and the situation is grim" (quote from Variety).
Despite this, the musician did not show fear of the illness, but regrettably announced the need to cancel the band's upcoming tour.
Brad Arnold founded 3 Doors Down in 1996 along with guitarist Matt Roberts and bassist Todd Harrell. Early in his career, he served as both vocalist and drummer. In 1997, the band recorded their first demo, which included the song Kryptonite, written by Arnold during his school years.
The re-recorded version of this song was released on the debut album The Better Life in 2000 and reached third place on the Billboard Hot 100. Since the release of the album Away from the Sun, Arnold focused exclusively on vocals.
