Messi is considering a return to "Barcelona" after the 2026 World Cup
Sources say the forward has decided not to participate in the upcoming presidential elections for the club, scheduled for March 15, and is refraining from supporting any of the candidates to avoid getting involved in the club's internal affairs.
However, the question of his return to "Barça" is still open. As reported by Marca, Messi plans to start discussions about this option only after the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup. Until then, he is focused on his current stage of his career and does not intend to make any statements about the club's future.
From 2003 to 2021, Messi represented "Barcelona," becoming one of its most outstanding figures. He won the Spanish championship ten times and the Champions League four times, and his 672 goals make him the club's all-time top scorer. In the 2011/2012 season, he set a La Liga record by scoring 50 goals in a single season.
After leaving "Barcelona" in 2021, he signed a contract with "Paris Saint-Germain," and since the summer of 2023, he has been playing for "Inter Miami."
