During the meeting, as reported by Akorda, the president was briefed on the commission's work on the draft of the new Constitution. Elvira Azimova noted that the draft, which was presented for public discussion on the eGov and e-Otinish platforms, received over 4,000 responses from citizens. The opinions of the people are mostly positive — they believe that the draft meets modern requirements and the interests of society. Various political parties and public organizations at both the republican and regional levels also expressed support for the new Constitution.
Tokayev emphasized the importance of transparency in the work of the Constitutional Commission, which will allow citizens to be informed about the discussion process and to familiarize themselves in detail with the draft. The president instructed to continue carefully considering all proposals received from experts and citizens.
In addition, Azimova reported that the commission members will continue to edit individual articles and points of the new Constitution. The next commission meetings are scheduled for February 7 and the following week.
