
During the discussion, Jumakhonzoda emphasized that this issue is under consideration and expressed hope for a positive outcome. He added that the introduction of a visa-free regime is one of the steps to attract more tourists to the country, which will be supported by active advertising efforts.
The main sources of tourist flow to Tajikistan, according to the head of the department, include Arab countries, England, Germany, France, Russia, China, and South Korea. These countries show the greatest interest in traveling and vacationing in Tajikistan.
According to Jumakhonzoda, in 2025, Tajikistan will be visited by 1.784 million tourists, which is an increase of 27.5% or 384.3 thousand people compared to 2024.
Of the total number of tourists, 1.6345 million will come from CIS countries, while 149.9 thousand will come from far abroad. Among the five countries whose citizens most frequently visit Tajikistan, Uzbekistan ranks first (1.46 million), followed by Russia (396,475), Kyrgyzstan (137,530), Kazakhstan (37,288), and China (33,178).
Tajikistan has also made it into the ranking of the 25 best tourist destinations in the world according to Lonely Planet in 2025. In the list "Best in Travel 2026," the country was noted as one of the attractive places for mountain tourism.
According to data from the State Committee for Tourism, there are 191 registered tourist companies in the republic. Of these, 31 companies are located in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, 93 in Dushanbe, 42 in the Sughd Region, 15 in the Khatlon Region, and 10 in the regions under republican jurisdiction.
