According to Tokayev, "the situation is very complex, and the central aspect remains the issue of territories. Kazakhstan has always advocated resolving conflicts exclusively through political and diplomatic channels. We are convinced that the only path to peace is dialogue between the parties. Our country does not intend to take on the role of a mediator but is ready to offer a neutral platform for negotiations if such an opportunity arises," the president stated.
In addition, Tokayev commented on the initiative to create a Council of Peace.
“This initiative has come at a crucial time and is aimed at achieving operational and effective solutions. President Trump noted at the signing of the charter that the Council of Peace should complement, not replace, the work of the United Nations, which is currently facing certain internal difficulties. It is especially important that this initiative is intended to support the implementation of Resolution 2803 of the UN Security Council, emphasizing the need to build peace on the foundations of international legitimacy and effective leadership,” he added.
Tokayev expressed hope that the Council of Peace will become an important tool for strengthening global peace and stability, offering adaptive and practical approaches to conflict resolution.
