The Kazakh parliament approved a Temporary Trade Agreement that will allow for expanded trade and simplified conditions for market access between the EAEU and Mongolia.

At the parliamentary session, Acting Minister of Trade and Integration Zhanell Kushakova noted that this agreement implies the abolition of import duties on 367 items of goods exchanged between the participating states.

The agreement will be in effect for three years with the possibility of automatic extension for another three years.

Kushakova emphasized that this document covers not only tariff liberalization but also includes issues of technical regulation, sanitary and phytosanitary requirements, customs cooperation, and protection of the domestic market. This should help simplify trade processes and eliminate non-tariff barriers.

She added that the agreement will contribute to creating more favorable conditions for exporting goods to the Mongolian market, while its ratification will not lead to negative consequences for the economy and will not require additional budget expenditures.
