In response to this decision, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stated that "in the coming days, measures that the Islamic Republic of Iran will take in response to this illegal step, which has no basis and is extremely erroneous, will be determined."
According to Baghaei, a series of actions has already been analyzed, and various proposals have been sent to the relevant agencies. The summoning of ambassadors began on Sunday and continues on Monday.
Recall that on January 29, Josep Borrell, the head of European diplomacy, announced that the foreign ministers of EU countries had reached an agreement to include the IRGC on the list of terrorist organizations. This decision was made against the backdrop of the suppression of mass protests in Iran that began in late December. In response, the Iranian parliament also recognized the armed forces of EU countries as terrorists.
According to Iranian authorities, about 3,100 people have died during the protests, however, Time magazine, citing sources in the Iranian Ministry of Health, reports 30,000 casualties.
