An incident has been registered in Valencia where a man broke into the airfield and climbed to the top of an airplane. Local media report this.

A flight by Vueling Airlines heading to Amsterdam was delayed at "Manises" airport for two and a half hours. The young man of Moroccan descent went onto the runway and climbed onto the fuselage of an Airbus A320. He was detained by Civil Guard officers and then hospitalized.

According to medical staff, after initial treatment at the airport, he was transferred to the psychiatric hospital of the Main Hospital of Valencia. It is believed that he had previously undergone treatment for mental disorders and was experiencing difficulties related to returning to his homeland in Morocco. A day before the incident, he was noticed in the terminal, where he was seeking information about flights to his country.

Although representatives of Aena airport claim that the situation did not pose an immediate threat to passengers or air traffic, the flight to Amsterdam was still delayed. Passengers were able to depart at 21:00 on another plane after the fuselage of the first Airbus underwent a thorough inspection by Vueling's maintenance crews. Protocols for violations of air navigation rules were also drawn up.
