In a unique achievement in the world of aviation, 16-year-old pilot Byron Waller from Australia has completed his round-the-world flight in a light aircraft. During his journey, he visited 19 countries and covered a distance of about 45,000 kilometers, reports Lenta.ru.
What prompted Byron to undertake such a challenging journey? His flight became not only a record but also an inspiration for youth around the world, demonstrating that dreams can become a reality, even if they seem unattainable. At the age of 14, Waller was diagnosed with Crohn's disease—a chronic condition that often required him to be hospitalized. However, this did not stop him from dreaming of becoming a pilot, and at just 15 years old, he already completed a flight around Australia.
The route of the round-the-world flight began on August 9 from Brisbane in a single-engine Sling TSi aircraft. Over two months, Byron visited numerous countries, crossed oceans and continents, and celebrated his sixteenth birthday in the air over Fiji. He completed his journey on October 15, successfully landing at the airport from which he had departed. Waller is currently awaiting official ratification of his record and serves as an inspiration for youth, demonstrating that neither age nor difficulties can be an obstacle on the path to a dream.
