In Kazakhstan, a man was fined for a fake about the new constitution project
According to information from the agency, this citizen previously posted on social media that the draft Constitution has lifted the "ban on the sale of land to foreigners." The press service noted that this information is false.
“By the decision of the Almaty district administrative court, citizen A. was found guilty of spreading false information and subjected to administrative punishment. His fine amounted to 20 MRP, which is approximately equivalent to 86 thousand tenge,” the department's press service added.
Recall that in September of last year, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev initiated parliamentary reforms, which necessitated changes to the Constitution. The decree on the establishment of a Constitutional Commission was signed on January 21, and just three days later, its first meeting took place.
On January 31, a draft of the new Constitution was presented in Kazakhstan, which, in particular, includes the creation of a unicameral parliament (Kurultai), the introduction of the position of vice president (who cannot be a member of a political party), as well as the establishment of citizenship deprivation in the case of holding a passport from another country.
