The exit from Mongolia is prohibited for the former deputy chairperson of the parliament, Ms. Bulgan Tuya Khurelbaatar. This is reported by MiddleAsianNews.

Note: This message is not a judicial decision and is intended to inform the public about current procedural changes.

The first-instance court for criminal cases has issued a ruling prohibiting Ms. Bulgan Tuya from leaving the country.

Background: Previously, the first-instance judge rejected the prosecutor's request to initiate criminal proceedings against Ms. Khurelbaatar on charges of preparing and participating in an attempted coup. The prosecutor appealed this decision to the chief judge.

The chief judge reviewed the prosecutor's complaint on January 28, 2026. Based on the evidence collected and the need to prevent possible interference in the criminal proceedings, the court amended its previous decision and imposed a temporary travel ban until the proceedings are completed.

Summary prepared by Ms. Khaliun Borolzoy, head of the district court of first instance for criminal and civil cases in simplified proceedings.
