The head of the Ministry of Energy noted that this year electricity supply will be more stable than last year. He emphasized that the water level in the Nurek Reservoir is being maintained at an optimal level, which contributes to increased electricity production on cold days.
Currently, the population has access to electricity from 5:00 AM to 8:00 AM and from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
In addition, Daler Juma reminded that after the reconstruction, the capacity of the Nurek and Kairakkum hydroelectric power stations was increased. The modernization of the Kairakkum HPP, completed in 2025, allowed its capacity to be increased by 60 MW, bringing it to 174 MW.
Also, according to information from the Ministry of Energy, a third power unit has been commissioned at the Nurek HPP, which added another 40 MW to its design capacity.
