In Uzbekistan, more than 177,000 people died in a year
In 2025, 177,104 people died in the republic, which is 2.7 thousand more than in the previous year, according to the Agency for Statistics.
Among the deceased, men accounted for 55.1% (97.5 thousand), while women made up 45.9% (81.4 thousand). Moreover, more than half of all deaths—54.1%—were among urban residents, while 45.9% of cases were registered in rural areas.
Diseases of the circulatory system remain the leading cause of mortality in the country, accounting for more than half of all cases. In 2025, over 104 thousand people died from cardiovascular diseases. The next most significant causes are neoplasms, respiratory diseases, and other conditions.
