Explosions Occurred in Several Cities in Iran: There Are Dead and Injured
According to state television, one person was killed and 14 were injured as a result of this incident.
Additionally, the Mehr agency reported an explosion in a residential complex in Ahvaz, located in southwestern Iran. According to unconfirmed information, four people were victims of the explosion there. The head of the local fire and rescue service pointed to a gas leak as a possible cause.
Media reports also indicated explosions in Parand and Tabriz, but there has been no official confirmation of this information yet.
There were rumors on social media that an assassination attempt had been made on the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' naval forces, Alireza Tangsiri, in Bandar Abbas. However, Iranian media denied these reports. The Mehr agency stated that "an informed source denied rumors of such an assassination in connection with the incident." Tasnim also confirmed this information through its sources.
Israeli officials stated that their country is not connected to these explosions, as reported by Channel 12 of Israeli television.
It is worth noting that amid deteriorating relations with the U.S., the Iranian armed forces have been put on "full defensive and combat readiness." The commander of the ground forces, Amir Hatami, stated that "any mistake on the part of the enemy could threaten its security, as well as the security of the region and the Zionist regime."
The conflict between Washington and Tehran has escalated after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened new military strikes on January 30 if Iran does not agree to a new deal regarding its nuclear program.
