The cold weather is expected to gradually ease across the country by February 3.
According to the weather forecast, cloudy weather is expected in the eastern regions on January 30, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. In the mountainous areas of Khentii and the steppes of Dornod-Dariganga, light snow may occur, while other regions will experience variable cloudiness with no precipitation. Snow is not predicted during the day.
In the east of the country, the wind will blow from the northwest, while in other areas it will come from the west, with speeds of 4-9 meters per second, and in the steppes of Dornod-Dariganga, it will reach 12-14 meters per second.
Clear weather with a light breeze is expected around Ulaanbaatar. At night, temperatures in the Yarmag-Songino area may drop to -29–31°C, in other places to -21–23°C, while during the day, temperatures will range from -10–12°C.
