As a result of an accident in the electricity network in Kyiv, water supply has completely ceased. This incident was reported by the publication "Strana.ua".
Ukrainian Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal stated that a technological disruption occurred in the morning when both the 400 kV line connecting Romania and Moldova and the 750 kV line connecting the western and central regions of Ukraine were simultaneously disconnected.
According to him, this led to cascading outages in the electrical network and triggered automatic protection at substations. As a result, the blocks of nuclear power plants were also unloaded.
The company "Kyivvodokanal" confirmed that due to the accident in the energy system, water supply has been halted in all districts of the capital.
Due to the lack of electricity, the movement in the Kyiv metro has been suspended, as noted by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
