The U.S. Justice Department has released over 3 million new documents in the Jeffrey Epstein case
U.S. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche stated that part of the materials has been redacted: personal information of the victims, as well as explicit images and videos, have been removed. However, as CNN notes, some unredacted names of certain victims can already be found in the available documents.
The published materials mention Donald Trump. In particular, one of the internal FBI documents contains anonymous, oral allegations of sexual assault, including the rape of minors. This document is part of the correspondence between FBI and Department of Justice employees related to inquiries in the NTOC (National Threat Operations Center) system. It is important to note that these statements are not conclusions of the investigation and do not contain confirmed evidence; according to some reports, the identities of the complainants could not be established, and some information was deemed unreliable.
Todd Blanche also noted that the White House did not influence the process of preparing the publication. "Claims that the Department of Justice is supposed to protect Donald Trump are not true. We always act in the interests of the victims," he emphasized.
Some materials concern the circumstances of Epstein's death in 2019 at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York. One of the presented documents contains testimony from an unnamed facility employee, stating that Epstein allegedly attempted suicide 17 days before his death. It also notes that mandatory checks of the cells were not conducted on the night of his demise, and the surveillance systems were not operational.
The archive of documents includes correspondence between Epstein and an account named The Duke from 2010. The letters are signed with the initials "A," and the signature appears as "HRH Duke of York KG." These letters discuss personal meetings and dinners; however, there are no specific indications of illegal activities.
Additionally, the published materials mention other well-known individuals. For example, the documents contain information about Epstein's contacts with Elon Musk and unverified information about Bill Gates. The Department of Justice emphasizes that such data requires further verification and are not established facts.
The publication of materials related to the Epstein case began in December 2025 after the passage of a law signed by Donald Trump, which required the Department of Justice to disclose all documents related to this case. According to the department, the archive contains about 6 million materials, of which more than 3.5 million files had been made public by the end of January.
