According to the data from the Immigration Agency of Mongolia, a report on inspections conducted in January 2026 indicates the deportation of 78 citizens from 12 countries, each of whom is banned from re-entering for a period of 3 to 5 years. Among them, 53 are citizens of China, 11 from Russia, 3 from Uzbekistan, 2 from Vietnam, 2 from Kyrgyzstan, and 7 from other countries.
The reasons for deportation, according to the authorities, include violations of visa validity periods, working without permits, participation in activities inconsistent with the stated purpose of stay, as well as cases where foreigners were convicted and served their sentences.
The ministry also noted that in the previous year, 1,222 foreigners were deported, which is an increase of 41.4% compared to previous data.
Extradition: In cooperation with the Investigative Department of the Criminal Police Service, a Chinese citizen (M.Y.), wanted for fraud, was handed over to Chinese authorities after his residence permit in Mongolia was revoked.
