Turkey Linked Iran's Stability to Regional Security
At the meeting of the Turkish National Security Council, issues concerning the neighboring country, as well as the situation in Gaza, Syria, and Ukraine were discussed.
During the meeting, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Turkish National Security Council emphasized that stability in Iran plays a critically important role for the security of the entire region. This information is contained in a statement published following the meeting, TRT reports.
The statement highlights that recent events in Iran were closely examined, and its stability was characterized as vital for regional security. Current events in Gaza were also discussed, including the prospects for a ceasefire.
Ankara confirmed its readiness to work with partners on the reconstruction of Gaza and to continue humanitarian efforts. Authorities expressed their intention to facilitate the establishment of sustainable peace in this region.
The Council also reaffirmed its support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political unity of Syria, emphasizing its commitment to ensuring the security and well-being of the Syrian people.
Additionally, issues related to the fight against terrorism, the conflict in Ukraine, and stability in the Black Sea were discussed. The document emphasizes that Turkey will continue its multilateral efforts in 2026 to maintain peace and stability in the vast region encompassing neighboring countries, as well as Asia, Africa, and Europe.
