According to the Global Peace Index (GPI) for 2025, Mongolia continues to hold one of the leading positions among peaceful countries in Asia, as confirmed by its stable rating in recent years. Details are provided by MiddleAsianNews.

The index, developed by the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), assesses the level of peacefulness in 163 countries based on 23 indicators across three key areas: safety and security of the population, the level of ongoing conflicts, and the degree of militarization.

Mongolia ranks 5th in Asia and 37th in the world ranking, with an index of 1.719. The country is known for its stability, high level of social security, and low level of internal conflicts compared to other regions.

The report emphasizes that Mongolia maintains its strong position in terms of security, significantly outperforming many other countries in Asia according to the 2025 assessment.

At the top of the rankings are Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, and Bhutan. Mongolia surpasses countries such as Vietnam, Taiwan, South Korea, East Timor, and Laos.

According to the Global Peace Index (GPI), the Asia-Pacific region, while remaining the second most peaceful region in the world, shows a slight decline in this indicator. However, positive changes are observed, especially in Indonesia, where there has been significant growth in peacefulness over the past five years, attributed to successes in combating terrorism. In contrast, Myanmar has been named the least peaceful country in the region, with deteriorating indicators due to the ongoing civil war.

The 19th edition of the Global Peace Index (GPI) covers 163 independent states and territories, ranking them by their level of peacefulness and encompassing 99.7% of the world's population. The GPI, developed by the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), is a key global indicator of the level of peacefulness.
