The installation of this statue in Thailand marks a significant event that promotes the spread of Buddhist heritage and spiritual values of Mongolia on the global stage. This is reported by MiddleAsianNews.

The opening and consecration ceremony of the statue of Janraisig (Avalokiteshvara) took place on January 22, and the project was the result of an initiative by the Mongolian embassy in Thailand.

The statue, which is 16 meters tall and weighs about 30 tons, is made from special materials that ensure its resilience to adverse weather conditions.

This is the first Buddha statue in Mongolia's history erected in a Buddhist country outside its borders.

The ritual of consecration and veneration of the statue was conducted by the abbot Baasan from the Gandan Tegchenling Monastery and the unzad Bazargur from the Gungaachoylin Datsan.

According to the Mongolian embassy in Thailand, the statue was designed based on the famous statue of Migjid-Janraisig in the Gandan Tegchenling Monastery and was erected over several months with the support of the local population.

The creators are confident that the statue of Migjid-Janraisig (Avalokiteshvara) will contribute to the spread of Buddhist teachings and principles of compassion, thereby strengthening cultural and religious ties between Mongolia and Thailand, as well as making a significant contribution to the development of religious tourism.
