In the Kharkiv region of Ukraine, five people died as a result of a drone attack on a train
According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, two drones landed near a train, and a third hit directly into a carriage, causing a fire.
Currently, fragments of five bodies have been found, and their identification will be carried out through DNA testing.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky characterized the attack on the train as "terrorism." He noted that "there is no and cannot be a military objective in the destruction of civilians in a train carriage," adding that at the time of the attack, there were 18 people in the carriage hit by the drone. This statement was made on his Telegram channel, where he also published a video of the aftermath of the strike.
As a result of a combined strike by Russia on the night of January 27, 80% of Kharkiv and its region were left without electricity. The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleg Synegubov, reported that the attacks were carried out using the Tornado-S multiple launch rocket system and Shahed drones.
Kharkiv also came under shelling on January 26 and 24. The city's mayor, Igor Terekhov, reported damage to apartment buildings, a maternity hospital, as well as school and kindergarten buildings.
