In Mongolia, the number of measles cases has sharply increased to 14,000
According to the National Center for Infectious Diseases (NICTIZ), 22 new cases of measles were registered in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of infected individuals in the country to 13,989.
In its report, the center also mentioned that 56 patients remain in hospitals, among whom five children are in critical condition.
Additionally, on December 30, it was announced that the total number of deaths from measles in Mongolia has risen to 12, following another fatal case associated with the disease.
In this regard, NICTIZ strongly recommended that parents ensure their children are protected from this dangerous disease by administering two doses of the measles vaccine.
Measles is a viral disease characterized by high contagiousness and is transmitted both through airborne droplets and direct contact.
Common complications include fever, dry cough, runny nose, sore throat, and eye inflammation. Prevention of the disease is carried out through vaccination.
