
According to USA Today, the number of victims of the snowstorm that hit the United States has reached 34.
Previously, the Associated Press reported 30 deaths due to severe frost.
“As a result of the powerful storm, at least 34 fatalities have been recorded,” the publication states.
More than half of these deaths occurred due to hypothermia, being outdoors, or in connection with snow removal efforts.
The National Weather Service forecasts significant snowfall and dangerous road conditions from eastern Texas to North Carolina. A state of emergency has been declared in 21 states. In New York, public schools will be closed on Monday. US President Donald Trump described the snowfall as "historic."
