In January 2026, the total number of foreign tourists in Mongolia amounted to 35,308 people.
According to the Mongolian Tourism Organization, this number has increased compared to the same period last year. In particular, on January 22, 1,440 foreign tourists visited the country.
Based on the countries of origin, the number of tourists arriving in Mongolia was distributed as follows:
China – 14,220
Russia – a significant number
South Korea – 2,588
Japan – 776
Kazakhstan – 630
USA – 528
Tourists also actively arrived from Belarus, the Philippines, France, the United Kingdom, Vietnam, and other countries. At the same time, there is a noticeable increase in visitors from European states and countries with long-distance routes. Industry experts emphasize that this growth is due to active border, transport, and market policies, as well as improvements in international promotion of winter and cultural tourism.
