Last week, on Thursday, the Philippine Embassy in Beijing issued a warning to its citizens in Mongolia about the presence of illegal recruiters. The message emphasized that converting a tourist visa or using the visa-free regime to obtain a work visa is strictly prohibited. This was reported by MiddleAsianNews.
In its message, the embassy reminded that the 21-day visa-free regime is intended solely for tourists and that working in Mongolia under this status is illegal.
“Do not trust intermediaries who promise an easy visa change upon arrival. This is a scam and a violation of the law. You risk being deported and losing your money,” the embassy warns.
Embassy representatives stressed that those planning to work in Mongolia must first sign an employment contract and obtain a work visa in the Philippines before departure.
“If you intend to work, secure a contract and a work visa in the Philippines before flying to Mongolia. Do not allow yourself to be deceived. Follow the laws,” the statement added.
