Last week, the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln crossed the Malacca Strait, passing by Singapore last Sunday with minimal visibility and accompanied by the destroyers USS Frank E. Petersen Jr, USS Spruance, and USS Michael Murphy.
Previously, this ship was in the South China Sea, and now its course is leading to the Indian Ocean. Although official sources from the Pentagon and the Navy have not confirmed the final destination, navigation data indicates this route.
This is already the third instance in a year where a strike group in the Indo-Pacific region has been directed to redirect to the Persian Gulf. The aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln has already changed course during its deployment in 2024, and similar orders were issued to the carrier Nimitz last June.
