The first day of negotiations between Ukraine, Russia, and the USA in Abu Dhabi has concluded.
The first day of negotiations has concluded, and their continuation is scheduled for Saturday, as reported by the BBC.
Rustem Umerov, head of the Ukrainian delegation, noted that key aspects of ending the Russian war and further steps in the negotiations aimed at achieving a fair and sustainable peace were discussed at the meeting.
According to a high-ranking source in the White House, the meeting was successful. Umerov added that on Saturday, General Andrey Gnatov, Chief of the General Staff, and Lieutenant General Vadim Skibitsky, Deputy Head of the GUR MO, will join the Ukrainian team.
From the American side, several high-profile representatives are participating in the negotiations: Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff, the president's son-in-law Jared Kushner, senior advisor to the Trump-created "Council for Peace" Josh Gruenbaum, Army Secretary Dan Driscoll, and NATO Commander in Europe Alexus Grinkevich.
It was previously announced that the negotiations would take place over two days.
