In Akorda, they responded whether Kazakhstan contributed $1 billion for joining the World Council
Akorda noted that joining the Council of Peace requires only a sovereign decision from the state.
According to representatives, the membership term in the Council is three years. The voluntary contribution of $1 billion mentioned in the charter is not mandatory for participation. If the contribution is made within the first year, it will allow for an extension of membership in the Council for more than three years. Thus, Kazakhstan entered the Council of Peace without any financial obligations, which fully complies with the charter provisions.
It is worth reminding that on January 16, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the creation of a new international organization — the "Council of Peace." It is intended as a mechanism for monitoring compliance with agreements in the Gaza sector and was supported by the UN. It later became clear that Trump plans to expand the "Council of Peace" to other conflict regions.
On January 22, 19 heads of state signed the Charter of the Council of Peace.
