Musk noted: “I believe we will be able to create AI that is smarter than any human by the end of this year or at the latest next year. And then, possibly by 2030 or 2031, that is, in five years, it will be able to surpass all of humanity in intelligence.”
Additionally, he emphasized that in the future there will be more robots on Earth than people. Musk pointed out that in a favorable scenario, AI and robots will be able to make any tasks easier for humans. “If there are many humanoid robots — and I believe there will be a billion of them — then everyone on the planet will be able to have such an assistant,” he added.
The company Tesla, led by Musk, is developing humanoid robots known as Optimus. These devices operate on the basis of self-learning AI and Tesla's autopilot. In December 2023, a new version of the Optimus Gen 2 robots was presented. According to Musk, Tesla plans to complete the creation of a serial prototype of Optimus by February or March 2026.
