The Department of Tourism of the capital, in collaboration with Sky Resort LLC, is organizing the "Ulaanbaatar Winter Festival 2026" from January 31 to February 1 at the Sky Resort ski complex.

This event will take place for the 14th time with the aim of developing specialized winter tourism, increasing the number of tourists during the cold months, and promoting a healthy lifestyle among residents. The festival also aims to preserve and promote local traditions and cultural heritage, supporting active winter sports and adventure tourism.

As part of the festival, international and national championships in ice archery are planned, as well as competitions in snowboarding, paragliding, winter rugby, alpine skiing, and curling. Enthusiasts will also be able to participate in ice climbing relays and tug-of-war, while students from the tourism sector will take part in the "Great Tour".

The festival will delight guests with demonstrations by paragliders, as well as showcases of traditional hunting with Mongolian bankhar dogs and falcons. Visitors can look forward to opportunities for skiing and sledding, as well as various artistic performances.

The organizers expect more than 1,000 athletes from Ulaanbaatar and all 21 aimags to participate in the festival. More than 50 athletes have also registered from regions such as the Autonomous Region of Inner Mongolia, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China, the Republic of Buryatia, the Republic of Kalmykia, the Republic of Tuva of the Russian Federation, as well as from Kazakhstan and the United States of America.
